Bio I am a Surry County native and former educator with experience in career development and youth programming. I received my B.S. degree in Health Education from UNC Wilmington in 2013. I began my professional career with NC State Extension serving as the Surry County 4-H Agent for 5 years. I then served as the Career Development Coordinator at Elkin Middle School for 4 years where I planned and implemented career development activities and programs as well as taught Exploring Career Decisions. I graduated from Appalachian State University in December 2022, with a Graduate Certificate in Middle & Secondary Teaching, and obtained my teaching license in CTE, Health Sciences. I have worked with students and youth for the past decade and bring a wealth of knowledge of healthcare through personal and family health experiences. I love working with youth and have a strong desire to share my passion for healthcare with students and help them to discover the unlimited opportunities that this field has to offer.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, Brandon, my twin sons, and dogs, Charlie and Millie.
