Education:
Teaching critical leadership and soft skills, such as goal setting, interpersonal communication, and team building to ensure students are well prepared to engage in work and life. We employ work-based learning to facilitate job showing, internships, co-ops, work-study programs, and apprenticeships connecting students with career opportunities and local employers. Employment: Ensuring access to relevant training opportunities to connect students to employers based on employer need in order to increase a skilled workforce in our community. Economic Development: Cultivating collaborative partnerships with businesses to invest in the development of a well-prepared and highly engaged workforce. |

Our Mission
Elkin City Schools, Mount Airy City Schools, Surry County Schools, and Yadkin County School are working together with the assistance of Surry Community College to support the economic vitality of our region by matching interns to meet the needs of the community with business partners. Together we will prepare students for work-based learning, assist with industry-recognized credentials, and encourage enrollment in Career & Technical high school and college courses. In addition, we will provide mutually beneficial links between students and employers with the goal of increasing skilled workers in our community.
